Alexandros Alexandrou is “born to be alive” to give and share; joy, love, REAL hospitality, emotions, quality, and to give his heart and soul for his family/friends/community/country/WORLD through his love for food and everything that comes with it! A fascinating pure hearted and genuine giving entrepreneur and gastronomist! I always try to keep notes besides taping my interviewees but with Alexandros, it was very hard because first, he is super-fast and I didn’t want to miss out on anything and second, his story is like a movie that you want watch over and over again!
He was born in the beautiful island Lemnos into a very hospitable family, were both his parents serviced the tourism. He says his mother went out of her way to give the best possible service to the tourists and most of the time helping them out even in their personal matters where others would not! Lemnos is not a very famouse island but it should be as it has many things such as many delicious ingredients, such as cheese, wine etc. So being born into a lovely hospitable family, in a fruitful island and with a passion for cooking and servicing (he says as a young boy his pictures weren’t with with Cars and boy toys but with pans and pots!!!) it would only be natural to mix all these and come up with a fantastic idea! But before I tell you, I must tell you that his story started when he left the island to go to university to another city in Greece to study accounting which he didn’t like… But his passion for cooking led him in meeting a lovely chef, Alexandros Papandreou, who believed in him and so his cooking story started there! And together they published a unique cook and experience book about Lemnos and its beauties…
Of course I am as usual cutting a very long fascinating story in one page (incredibly hard...), and so he came up with the mixing all he love into servicing his island by giving “tailor made experience” to tourist, called taste Lemnos! They provide absolutely everything, such as wine and cheese tasting, cooking with locals, farm experience, swimming at special beaches, pottery etc. you name it, they have it! Alexandros and his team have created a unique experience for their people, as they aren’t just giving a good quality service but they are creating connection and a community between the people visiting, the locals and the island… the triangle of hospitality!
Alexandros Alexandrou knows how to give credit and respect to everyone… he has the understanding and sensitivity to feel other people and to empathize with them and their hardship. He is only 27 and has spherical knowledge and knows how to use it to serve to the highest, his people and clients… to give them everything he can making them feel like HOME. He say’s “when you give love, you receive love”… And that is exactly what he is getting; everyone who crosses his path, believes in him and his vision…
