Dimitris Kalavros-Gousiou

A visionary entrepreneur who gives young startups all they need to grow!

It is so fascinating and honourable to meet entrepreneurs who exceed your expectations… and Dimitris Kalavros-Gousiou is an example! A low profile entrepreneur who has achieved so much in a very young age… he is a man of his words and he means what he says! He is smart and serious, and has a talent to listen and grasp only the things that can take him forward! He doesn’t promise you the moon but in the end he gives you the moon, the sun and the earth!!!

Dimitris has a strong background in law as besides his studies in law, both of his parents are layers. But he always had great love for technology and the internet… and at the age of 12 he first built his own website providing news on technology. Believing in a just society that can give a fair chance to smaller businesses, he focused his Master’s thesis on competition law and antitrust legislation. His first entrepreneurial steps started while studding in the UK… He was inspired by the TEDx inspiring speakers and without knowing or having any experience whatsoever he applies to bring this so wonderful concept to his country and he does! From 2009 Dimitris Kalavros-Gousiou is the founder and curator of TEDxAthens!

That’s not all… these past few years and right in the middle of the crises, and wanting to give a chance to young startups the environment to grow, he found The Found.tion! A leading startup enabling platform for tech-oriented products & services in SE Europe… they organize tech events, hackathons, accelerating programs and a super cool co-working space providing them everything they need to build scalable businesses.

Under his serious, professional and tough shield, he is extremely polite… Being a perfectionist and a hard worker, he is tough to please, but once he believes in you and your project he will support you all the way! What I would like to keep from his words is: “When you have a vision, it doesn’t mean you will always succeed… it might change or it might fade… accept it and find a new one”!
