A talented woman combining motherhood, acting and fashion design harmoniously!

It’s very fascinating when I meet people who break down our most cliché beliefs… beliefs such as: You can’t be a “good” mother and have a successful career… or never mix business with pleasure… or that actors are addicted to fame and the stage…! Aggeliki Dimitrakopoulou is woman who doesn’t fit any box! She is a free spirit…takes life as is and creates the best out of it.

I asked her if she always wanted to be an actor, and no was her answer. Aggeliki remembers herself having a hard time fitting in the “norm”, having difficulty understanding herself and her place within her cycle and community. I can relate to that, as I always felt I was somewhat different and my feelings and thoughts were very different from others… She had already been accepted to college when by chance she got introduced to acting and therefore started to pursue that path. She says she was lucky enough to get many parts and roles in the theatre and TV and very fast! Through her uprising career she met her husband, Orestis kamperidis, and got pregnant with their first daughter and as soon as she was about to start her career again, she had their second daughter. I asked her how she felt being away from the stage and fame for so long and if it was a sacrifice, and her reply was quite the opposite!

After a few years, having started again her path as an actor, one day coming home late from a rehearsal and wanting to do something that would be closer to her family, she and her husband started experiencing all night on the sawing machine her mother had left them! And that night they made their first bag! And what started out as a side thing, while hosting bazars with their hand made products, today is a very elegant and classy brand, Mummy’s Boyfriend! They design exceptionally beautiful and minimal clothing and accessories line for women! And the concept behind and the brand name, is to help give women with children a reason to be active and creative feeling “they still have it” and are beautiful as ever! Cloths that help you feel free all day…

Aggeliki Dimitrakopoulou proves that there is always a way to be creative and feeling fulfilled doing what we love with the people we love! Their showroom is like their second home, I felt very cosy and free, seeing them working together harmoniously… even their lovey dog is free… comes and goes as she wishes…
