What does “Positivity” mean to you?
For me, positivity is a state of mind. It is a lifestyle. A choice and a daily conscious habit. It is challenging the status quo with grace and exploring the outer depths of who I am. Positivity is about focusing on what is in my control, relentlessly striving to get better, not bitter when faced with adversity. It is the practice of mindfulness and taking full accountability for my thoughts, actions, and life. I believe positivity is living in truth and celebrating one’s divine brilliance, beauty, and greatness. Positivity is viewing each day as a blank canvas to love, to serve, to let go, to empower, to inspire and to tell your story while being the best version of yourself.
Can you specify 3 things that you do to regain your positivity and your strengths after a disappointment at work/life?
When I am confronted with obstacles and setbacks on this precious journey called life, I turn my attention to the following...
Self-Love: I practice the most important kind of love: self-love. I silence the outer chatter and inner dialogue of any self-doubt and fear, taking the time to truly reflect and not just simply react off emotions. Instead of criticizing myself, I take deep breaths and am kind to myself while reexamining who I am…who I want to be and releasing any negative sources, people, places and habits that are not adding positive energy into my transformation.
Living Today: I remind myself the only thing that is ever guaranteed is the present moment and that life is a transformative journey, not merely a destination. I also strive not to reduce my entire life to a particular challenge I might be experiencing...realizing deeply my story has immense value and can never be duplicated.
Gratitude: I appreciate the great fullness of life while experiencing the low and high moments. I am a strong believer, that by acknowledging the defeats, the successes and what one already has becomes the foundation of all abundance and more good to enter into one’s living.
How important is it to stay positive in achieving your goals?
Adversity and obstacles are inevitable. But that is what makes this life journey beautiful and meaningful. Staying positive through it all as we work towards and achieve our goals is imperative. I believe each day we are presented with the unique opportunity to change the trajectory of our lives. However, it starts in our mind and with our thoughts. Whatever we think and give time as well as energy to will manifest itself. The daily practice of creating a positive mindset enables us to develop a stronger mental attitude to never give up and to keep progressing forward when hitting a bump in the road.
What “Positive Promise” would you like to give?
I promise to be kind to everyone I meet, greeting them with a warm smile.
